新型コロナウイルス（COVID-19）感染が急速に世界に拡大しています。それに伴い入国制限が行われるなど旅行が難しい状況となり、各ホテルチェーンは対応に苦慮しています。マリオット、IHG、ヒルトン、ハイアットに注目し、各ホテルチェーンの現時点での対応（特にキャンセル、上級会員資格に対する対応）をまとめました。

4/30までに予約すれば5月以降も事前払い価格でもキャンセル・変更が可能というのがポイントでしょうか。しかし、実際に例えばGWなどに予約を試みると事前払いのレートでは払い戻しは予約翌日まででキャンセル不可と従来通りのルールが出てきます…システムがまだ追いついていないのでしょうか？

2019年のステータスに応じた宿泊クレジット50％付与

新型コロナウイルス感染拡大の影響による特別対応で2019年の実績に応じて、ステータス獲得に必要な宿泊数の約半分が特別な宿泊実績「エリートナイトクレジット（ENC）」として付与されるようです。
つまり、エリートステータスの取得に必要な宿泊数が減ることになります。
マリオット公式からのアナウンスによれば、エリートナイトクレジットは2020年7月下旬頃に対象者に自動的に付与される予定で、特別な手続きは不要とのことです。

2020年時点のエリートステータスの有効期限は「2022年2月」まで延長されており、現在のステータスを維持するのであれば、今回の特別対応は大きな意味を持ちません。どのような方にメリットがあるのでしょうか？

・ステータスランクアップに活用できる

現在のステータス以上のステータスを狙う場合にはチャンスとなります。現在ゴールド会員でプラチナ会員を狙っていた、プラチナ会員でチタン会員を目指していた方にはまたとないチャンスでしょう。

・ライフタイムエリート資格に加算

今回のエリートナイトクレジットは「ライフタイムエリートの宿泊実績」としてもカウントされます。ライフタイム会員を狙っていた方にはメリットとなります。

・50泊や75泊到達時に選択できる無料宿泊やスイートナイトアワードなどを狙える

先ほども申しあげたように現在のステータスが2022年2月まで延長されるということになっていますが、ステータスに到達することによって得られるベネフィット（50泊や75泊到達時に選択できる無料宿泊やスイートナイトアワードなど）は自動延長資格ではおそらくもらえないでしょう。今回の特例措置で自力で50泊や75泊に到達することで50泊や75泊到達時に選択できる無料宿泊やスイートナイトアワードなどを獲得できるメリットがあります。

上級会員資格の期限延長

Suite Night Awards (SNAs): We have extended the expiration of suite night awards by one year from December 31, 2020 to December 31, 2021.

・Free Night Award (FNA): Members who currently have an active Free Night Award (FNA) expiring in 2020 as part of their credit card benefit, annual choice benefit, promotions or travel package will be able to use it through January 31, 2021. (Exception: Members in mainland China, Hong Kong SAR, Macau SAR and Taiwan the Free Night Awards will be extended 12 months into 2021 from the date of expiration).

Cancellation policy & booking flexibly
We know that flexibility is what our guests are looking for right now. So, we are waiving cancellation fees for existing and new bookings at all IHG hotels globally for stays between March 9, 2020 and April 30, 2020.

This is in addition to existing cancellation policy measures we have in place, summarized below.

For any stay prior to March 9, 2020, existing measures mean that you will be able to change or cancel a valid booking reservation without financial penalty, if you are travelling to or from:

・Mainland China, Hong Kong SAR, Macau SAR and the Taiwan region for any stay between January 23, 2020 and March 9, 2020.
・Italy and South Korea for any stay between February 28, 2020 and March 9, 2020.

For bookings made through a travel agent or online booking platform (e.g. Booking.com, Expedia) please contact them directly – we have advised these companies of our cancellation policy and you should refer to their terms and conditions.

2020年3月、インターコンチネンタルアンバサダーの有効期限が３か月無料延長されました。2020年6月に、さらに3カ月の追加延長が行われ、インターコンチネンタルアンバサダーの有効期限の無料延長は合計6カ月となりました。

6/30までに予約すれば24時間前まで無料で変更orキャンセル可というのは大きいですね！コロナ騒動が落ち着いた頃の予約を入れておくのもいいかもしれません。

Your Hilton Honors Points and Status – Updated as of March 25, 2020

We know that earning and using points is not possible for many of you right now, so we are making a number of adjustments to help you maintain your status and points across the remainder of 2020.

2019 Status Extension. All members whose 2019 status was scheduled to be downgraded on March 31, 2020—whether it’s Diamond, Gold or Silver—will automatically receive an extension through March 31, 2021.
2020 Status Extension. We are extending your 2020 member status through March 31, 2022. This means you will continue to enjoy all the Diamond, Gold or Silver benefits you have access to today for the next 24 months.
Points Extension. We will pause the expiration of all Points scheduled to expire between now and December 31, 2020.
Weekend Night Rewards Earned on Eligible Hilton Credit Cards. We have extended the expiration date of all unexpired Weekend Night Rewards as of March 11, 2020, and all new ones issued until August 30, 2020, through the end of next summer (August 31, 2021).

Suspending Points Forfeiture:

We will be suspending the forfeiture of points through May 31, 2020. As a reminder, our general policy is that points do not expire, but they will be forfeited if a member’s account is inactive for 24 consecutive months.

Postponing Award Chart Changes:

We are postponing the introduction of Off-peak and Peak point redemption (originally planned for March 22, 2020) until 2021. This means that free-night redemptions will continue to be at standard rates for the rest of this year. Before we launch Off-peak and Peak point redemptions for stay dates in 2021 and beyond, we’ll provide advance notice as we always do.

基本的にはどのホテルチェーンもポイントや無料宿泊などの期限延長やキャンセル料無料といった対応については足並みがそろっているようです。キャンセル料無料はどのホテルチェーンも4/30までは少なくとも無料です。マリオットやヒルトンは5月以降の予約も4/30までに行えばキャンセル料無料と明記されています。だからといってむやみやたらに行くかどうかわからない予約を入れるのはどうかと思いますが、コロナ騒動が落ち着いた後を見越してうまく予約を入れたいところです。

上級会員資格延長についてはハイアットはアジア太平洋地域の延長を決定、マリオットは中国・香港・マカオ・台湾のみ延長決定、IHGは基準の緩和、ヒルトンは今後検討すると対応は様々です。当初ここまで世界中に新型コロナウイルスの感染が広がることは想定していなかったと思われますね…ハイアットやマリオットも上級会員資格延長の対象地域を広げることになるとは思います。欧州でも中国と変わらないレベルに広がった今中国だけ特別扱いするわけにはいかないでしょう。IHGのような基準の緩和は落としどころとしてはうまいなぁと思います。延長してしまうと資格維持のために宿泊しなくなる方もいらっしゃるでしょうし…
結局どのホテルチェーンも上級会員資格の延長で落ち着きました
